Buy a Poster support the Airshow
Souvenir posters are now available for purchase from Plymouth Air
The posters will be unique; each carrying an identifying number and signed by our chairman
unlike the posters that can be seen around the South West region in Plymouth,
Exeter, Torbay and Truro to name but a few. To purchase a poster you wil need to send a
Postal Order or Cheque for £2.75 made payable to Plymouth Air, 40-42 Grand Parade ,West Hoe, Plymouth, Devon. PL1 3DJ VIEW Poster
Paras all three days
Fingers will be crossed for excellent weather at this yrears event. The RAF Falcons are now
being joined by their colleagues The Falling Rocks Display Team for Sunday the 10th.
The Falcons will open Displays on the Friday and Saturday with the falling Rocks Closing
the event on the Sunday afternoon

Warships Crews Remembered
The crews of the aircraft carrier H.M.S. Glorious and her two destroyer escorts HMS Ardent
and HMS Acasta all Devonport ships will be remembered at a short service to be held at the
Plymouth Naval Memorial on Saturday the 9th June 2001.
The ceremony will pay tribute to the 1,519 men of the Royal Navy Royal Marines and
Royal Air Force who lost their lives when the ships came under heavy attack on the afternoon of
the 8th June 1940 Sixty one years ago. Only 39 men survived when the ships were sunk by deadly fire from the German Battle Cruisers "Scharnhorst" and "Gneisenau".

After the service and Laying-of-wreaths, "Plymouth Air" will pay tribute with a flypast to mark the end of the ceremony and the opening of the days events with the arrival of the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team at approx 1100 Hrs.

David, who is one of the organisers of the service of rememberance will be among the many
relatives attending this year, his father Jonathan was one of those who lost his life
onboard HMS Glorious.

Annual Dinner and Dance
The Plymouth Air annual dinner and dance will take place on Friday 18th May at the Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club, on Plymouth Hoe. Red Arrows return to the Hoe
The world renown RAF Red Arrows have confirmed for Saturday the 9th June the expected time will be 1300 Hrs.
The commentary will be given by Red Ten Andy Evans , who will arrive on the Hoe before the Display in the Red Arrows Squirrel helicopter. Come and join Andy and and the rest of the team and watch the spectacular display of aircraft .
